Summer Institute Overview

Puzzled over a child case? Unsure how to make sense of the accompanying family dynamics? Frustrated by the checklist approach to diagnosis? Wondering how culture influences the symptom set for this child?  Here’s a course for child therapists and analysts who want to sharpen their skills in doing or teaching psychodynamic formulation.

Join us with colleagues around the globe for a 6-day online immersion in psychodynamic case formulation.  Each day will explore applications of the PDM-2 as it applies to children and adolescents, accompanied by in-depth presentation of clinical cases.  We will think together about ethics, psychometric testing, psychodynamic approaches to diagnosis, and effective treatment interventions.  Videotaped demonstrations of clinical practice, narrative case reports, didactic lectures, and small group discussions constitute the methods of instruction.
